Dhaka: The Anti-Corruption Commission has launched a probe into the allegations of irregularities in Dhaka city’s sub-registrar’s offices.

ACC Deputy Director KM Mesbahuddin has launched an investigation into the alleged corruption n and irregularities in the capital city’s 19 sub-registrar’s offices, official sources said.

Allegations have it that buyers dodge government revenue while registering their flats and plots in sub-registrar offices, showing lower prices.

“So, the government has decided to conduct an inquiry into the irregularities and thus enhance government revenue collection,” ACC Director Tahidul Islam told journalists.

During the inquiry, he said the relevant officer will visit the sub-registrar’s offices and collect necessary papers and documents.  “The inquiry officer then will submit a probe report to the Commission,” the ACC director added.
