Attack on car of Tuhin Malik, driver beaten up badly

Dhaka: A gang of terrors attacked the car of Dr Tuhin Malik, a lawyer of Supreme Court, when he went to Karwan Bazaar RTV building for taking part in a talk show on Monday night.
The terrors beat up his car driver and threatened to kill Tuhin if he continues to take part in talk shows. But Tuhin escapes the attack unhurt as he was not in the car when the terrors attacked it with fire arms.
The incident of attack occurred at about 11:00pm when Dr Tuhin went to RTV for attending talk show at its Karwan Bazaar office on Monday night. His car was attacked and his driver was badly beaten up when the RTV talk show was going on and Tuhin was attending in it.
A GD was filed with Tejgaon police station and the matter was informed to high-ups in the police and administration.
Dr Tuhin took part in two talk shows – one at Channel I Thretio Matra and second one at RTV Our Democracy at 11:00pm on Monday night. During the programme recording his car was parked in front of RTV office.
At about 11:00pm four people riding on a silver color micro-bus came to the spot and asked the car driver to open the window glass of the car. When the driver opened the car glass a young man asked whether it is Tuhin Malik’s car. When the driver relpied in positive then the young man pointed a gun at the driver and asked him to get out of the car. When he get down fron the driving seat the four young men beat him up and threatened to kill Dr Tuhin Malik if continues to take part in talk shows anymore, police and witnesses said.
The miscreants told the driver, “Tell Tuhin we would kill him if he continues with his tall talks in talk shows. We’re sparing you, but we would not spare Tuhin if he keeps on his tall talks in talk shows.”
All the four terrors were carrying arms, the driver said. Tuhin came to know about the incident after the talk show and the RTV authorities escorted Tuhin to his home.
Earlier terrors threatened Dhaka University teacher Dr Ashif Nazrul and BRAC University teacher Pias Karim to kill them for “tall talks in talk shows.”
It is worth mentioning that Dr Tuhin Malik, Dr Ashif Nazrul and Pias Karim used to take part in different talks shows in private television channels and criticise various activities of the government which might have angered the ruling party activists and they threatened to kill them for censuring the government activities to gag their voice of dissent.
