A local Jubo League leader was kidnapped by unknown miscreants from the capital’s Gulshan-2 area on Saturday afternoon.

The victim was identified as Jahurul Islam Bhuiyan alias Parvez, 35, a leader of Narayanganj district unit of the ruling Awami League’s youth wing.

Quoting the victim’s wife, police said a group of 10/12 armed miscreants posing as law enforcers intercepted a car carrying Parvez and his wife in the area around 4:00pm.

Later, the criminals forcefully took Parvez in a microbus and sped away.

As the news travelled to Narayanganj, agitated supporters of Parvez blocked roads in Siddhirganj and Chashara of the city.
