New poetry book of Nirmolendu Goon

Dhaka: Nirmolendu Goon is one of the obvious names in Bangla literature. He did not publish any new poetry book in recent years. But the goon’s readers do not have to hopeless this year. His new books are coming in the book fair. Goon’s new poetry book ‘Shomoy Amake Hottar Kotha Boleche’ is coming to Amar Ekushey Grontho Mela 2013 from Pritom Prokashoni. A rhyme book is also publishing from the same publishing house named ‘Takdumadum Bagni Baaje’. Nirmolendu Goon’s first poetry book ‘Premangshur Rokto Chai’ was published in 1970. Some poetry collections were also published in some previous years but no new books were published. Goon's poetry contains stinging criticism and a touching description of the contrasting fate of the masses. A love of freedom and faith in the human spirit also permeates many of his poems. An avowed Marxist, Goon has also written poems urging an upheaval of the poor against the rich. He also has written a number of poems on important personalities, including Rabindranath Tagore, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, John Lenin, Shakti Chattopadhyay and others. He drew the cover of his first book of poetry. In recent years he also started to paint on a regular basis.
