Riton’s five new titles to hit Ekushey Book Fair

Dhaka: Five new titles of popular poet Lutfor Rahman Riton’s are set to hit the Ekushey Book Fair soon. Riton’s first poetry book was published in 1982. Along with writing poems and rhymes for children, the prolific rhymer has been roaming in different branches of Bangla literature. He had already been awarded Bangla Academy Puroshkar, Sikandar Abu Jafar Sahityo Puroshkar, Agrani Bank Sahityo Puroshkar and many others in recognition of his contribution to children’s literature. Of the new five books of Lutfor Rahman Riton, there are rhyme books for children titled ‘Gonesh Dhonesh Ronesh Abong Vuter Baccha’ will be published by Chandraboti Academy and for adults ‘Vola Mon Piring Piring’ will be published by Anonya. Onarzo Prokashoni will bring ‘Joy Bangla Joy Mujiber’. Annoprokash has already published his novel for child-juvenile ‘Arjun’. A classical prose book on memories with 30 departed souls of noted personalities ‘Noyon Tomare Pai Na Dekhite Royecho Noyone Noyone’ is being published by Chondraboti Academy. Riton said about the young poets and writers, “They new bred of writers read less but want to write more. That’s why we are not getting genuine and thoughtful writings from the young poets and writers. And those who are editing and managing the literature pages of daily newspapers I have doubt about their knowledge and skills for the task. We do not see proficient literary editors now-a-days like Rokonuzzaman Khan Dadabhai, Ahsan Habib and Aflatun.” Though Lutfar Rahman Riton lives in Canada as an expatriate writer, but he flew all the way from Canada to attend the Ehushey Book Fair this month as he is really passionate about the book fair.
