Bangalore: The condition of Indian playback singing legend Manna Dey, undergoing treatment at a private hospital here for age-related and other complications, has shown "marginal improvement", hospital sources said.

"His condition is slightly better than that of Sunday. There is marginal improvement. He is stable," sources at Narayana Hrudayalaya said.

The 94-year-old Dey, who has sung more than 3,500 songs in different languages, including Hindi and Bengali, in a career spanning seven decades, has made Bangalore his home after living in Mumbai for 50 years.

Dey, a Dadasaheb Phalke awardee, was hospitalised with chest infection on Saturday after his health deteriorated before which he was being treated at his home for the past couple of weeks.

His popular tracks include 'Poocho Na Kaise Maine' (Meri Surat Teri Aankhen), 'Ae Meri Zohra Jabeen' (Waqt), 'Zindagi Kaisi Hai Paheli' (Anand), 'Yeh Dosti' (Sholay) and 'Ek Chatur Naar' (Padosan).

Among Bangalees of all ages, he the most popular romantic and sad romantic singer with hundreds of all time hits like Moromia Tumi, Kofi Houser Sei Adda, Tuni Nijer Mukhei Bolle Jedin Sobi Tomar Obhinoy and so on.
