Former president and Jatiya Party (JP) Chairman Alhaj Hussein Muhammad Ershad, MP, on Sunday stressed for coming out of the culture of confrontation to nurture healthier politics for ensuring wellbeing of the nation.
He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of the newly built extended academic building of Mahiganj Degree College in the city as the chief guest with Principal of the college Professor AHS Ruhul Haque Sarker Ruju in the chair.
President of Rangpur district unit of JP Alhaj Moshiur Rahman Ranga, Vice-principal of the college Shushangko Shekhor, its teacher Sohrab Ali Dulal and student Sharmin Akhter also addressed the ceremony.
Ershad said he does not think that the defeat of the grand alliance in Gazipur City Corporation election has not wiped out all hopes for the alliance.
Reiterating his stand, Ershad said that his party will take part in the next general elections alone and he has eligible and prospective candidates for all 300 parliamentary constituencies throughout the country.
Later, Ershad addressed a public rally organised by Badarganj
upazila unit of JP at Badarganj upazila town as the chief guest this afternoon with President of district unit of JP Alhaj Moshiur Rahman Ranga in the chair.
General secretary of district unit of JP Abul Masud Chowdhury Nantu, General Secretary of its Rangpur city unit Salah Uddin Kaderi and lawmaker Alhaj Anisul Haque Mandal also addressed.
