Savar: At least eight people were killed and fifteen others remained missing as a bus fell into a river after colliding head-on with another at Ashulia Toll Plaza area in Savar on the outskirts of the capital on Tuesday morning.
The bodies of eight people have so far been recovered in the incident that took place at around 9:45am.
Two of the deceased identified so far were bus helper Abdur Rahman Babu, 50 and a passenger Rabi Ullah, 22.
Thirty people were also injured in the incident when a bus of Grameen Sheba fell into Turag river after hitting another bus of Nayem Paribahan.
The injured were taken to local Eastwest Hospital.
Fire service along with the local people joined the rescue work.
Diving team of Bangladesh Navy also reached the spot.
