Dhaka: Detective Branch of police on Wednesday arrested another blogger Asif Mohiuddin from the city's Segunbagicha area on charges of writing derogatory remarks on religion on the Internet.

Assistant Commissioner of police Kazi Rabiul Islam confirmed the arrest saying that Asif is now under the custody of DB.

DB on Tuesday arrested three bloggers -- Mashiur Rahman alias Biplob, 42, Russel Parvez, 36 and Subrata Suvo, 24 from the capital city's Plassey, Indira Road and Monipuripara areas on the same charges.

They were later taken on a seven-day remand for interrogation.

Asif, who was stabbed with sharp weapons in the capital's Uttara area on January 14, was arrested from his elder sister's residence at Segunbagicha, where he has been staying after completion of his treatment at the hospital, family and police sources said.

Earlier on March 31, police arrested four persons - Sad Al Nahin, 24, Kawsar, 26, Kamal, 23 and Kamal, 28 from the city's Shawrapara, Jatrabari and Dhaka University areas in this connection.

Miscreants also chopped to death blogger Ahmed Rajib near his Mirpur residence on February 15.
