Runa Laila to receive Sangeet Maha Samman award

Dhaka: Runa Laila, the celebrated singer of Bangladesh and the subcontinent, will soon be honoured by the West Bengal Government (India) with the prestigious ‘Sangeet Maha Samman’ title for her contribution to music. The award will be conferred on her on April 6 at the Netaji Indoor Stadium in Kolkata, on the opening day of the eight-day ‘Bangla Sangeet Mela-2013′.
