Dhaka: The 17th session of the ninth parliament (Jatiya Sangsad) will begin at 5.30 pm on April 21 (Sunday) to elect new President.

Acting President Abdul Hamid Advocate summoned the session as per Article 72 (1) of the Constitution.

Sources said the presidential election will be held during the session.

The 16th session concluded on March 6.
