Dhaka: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday again said that the next election will be held under the interim government as per the constitution after completing the tenure of the 9th parliament.
While presiding over a meeting of the Awami League Parliamentary Party (ALPP) at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban, she also hinted that October 25 could be the last working day of the current parliament.
Sheikh Hasina, also the AL chief, directed the treasury bench members to act responsibly so that the opposition lawmakers could stay in the House, a ruling party MP told BSS.
"Don't use aggressive words towards the opposition lawmakers," she said, adding that the ruling party lawmakers should talk logically.
She directed the lawmakers, including the reserved women seat members, to go to their respective constituencies and work for the welfare of the people. The Prime Minister also told the lawmakers to reduce their gap with the local AL leaders and activities.
The meeting that lasted for one hour discussed various issues including the next JS elections.
