A six-member investigation team of International Crimes Tribunal Investigation Agency (ICTIA) on Sunday investigated incidents of "crimes against humanity" that occurred in the district during the Liberation War in 1971.

An official source said the investigation team headed by chief of the ICTIA Mohammad Abdul Hannan arrived in Netrakona on Friday on a three-day official visit to investigate the crimes against humanity including "Shaheed Badiuzzaman Mukta killing case" of the International Crimes Tribunal.

The team visited four killing grounds of liberation war at Lakkigang bridge, Muktarpara bridge, Satpai river bank and Trimohoni bridge.

The team also visited the then Pakistani occupation soldiers camp at vocational training institute on college road and the Pak-army and their collaborators torture cell at Masjid quarters area in Netrakona district town.

During their visit, the team members talked to the local elderly people and collected necessary information, evidence including sketch map and photographs of these spots.

They also recorded statements of twenty witnesses of the Shaheed Mukta killing case and recorded the statements of the victim's family members.

An investigative officer, Ataur Rahman, told BSS that after completion of the investigation, they will submit the investigation report to the office of the chief prosecutor of the tribunal, from where it will be produced before the justice panel of the tribunal.
