Chittagong: Information Minister Hasanul Hoque Inu today said the first step of the ongoing war crimes trial will be completed by June 30.

The attempt to save war criminals by the vested quarters will not be fulfilled as the government is determined to complete the trial, he said.

"The nation has been disappointed for last 40 years for not getting justice against the collaborators who committed genocide and rape and the crimes against humanity and the sacrifices of freedom fighters and intellectuals have also been belittled", he added.

Inu said Sheikh Hasina led government honored the wills of the countrymen through the trial.

The information minister said this while addressing a public meeting held at Boalkhali Pilot School ground this evening.

14 party alliance of Boalkhali upazila organized the meeting.

Vice President of Chittagong south district Awami League SM Abul Kalam presided over the function while Minister without portfolio Suranjit Sen Gupta, addressed the function as the chief guest.

Mainuddin Khan Badal, MP, Saifuzzaman Chowdhury Jabed, MP, among others, addressed the function as special guests.

Speaking at the function Hasanul Hoque Innu said Khaleda Zia started conspiracy by instigating BDR mutiny after Sheikh Hasina led government just assumed the state power, but her all attempts went in vain.

Criticizing opposition leader Begum Khaleda Zia, Inu said she wants to carry out destructive activities in the country, including Hartal, attacking law enforcement agencies, patronizing war criminals and vandalizing vehicles on the streets to save the war criminals Golam Azam, Nizami and Mujaheed.

He called upon all pro-liberation forces to resist the enemy of Islam, fundamentalist Jammat-Shibir who is continuing attack on state and its different wings including administration destabilizing peace and order across the country through violent activities.

Speaking at the function Suranjit Sengupta said BNP wanted to do conspiracy by Hefajat but their all attempts turned into a futile exercise.
