Dhaka: A student of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) who suffered critical stab injuries in his head, back and left eye on April 9, died from those injuries at Square Hospital in the capital on Tuesday morning.

Arif Raihan Dwip, a third year student of the mechanical engineering department, also a member of the Buet unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League convening committee and resident student of Nazrul Islam Hall, was stabbed indiscriminately at the hall’s stairs by some unidentified miscreants.

He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital and later shifted to Square Hospital for better treatment.

His namaz-e-janaza was held in front of the registrar building in the morning.
