DU to go for 2-day weekend from July

Dhaka: Dhaka University authorities have announced to go for a two-day weekly holiday – on Friday and Saturday – from July next.

“The DU syndicate at a meeting on June 23 took the decision to introduce the two-day weekly holiday — on Friday and Saturday,” DU director (PR) Ashraf Ali Khan told.

He said the new two-day weekend will come into effect from July next when its offices and departments will remain open from 9 am to 5 pm every day.

Ashraf, however, said the DU departments can keep their offices open on the weekend, if necessary.
