Dhaka: Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid on Thursday visited the fire-affected North South University (NSU) campus in city's Basundhara area.

He expressed sorrow as the fire damaged a lot of the basement of the university building.

NSU board of trustee chairman Ragib Ali, Vice- Chancellor Professor Amin U Sarker, Pro-Vice Chancellor Meskat Uddin Ahmed, Treasurer Professor Gowr Gobinda Goswami, project director engineer Mustak Habib and Registrar M Shahjahan were present on the occasion.

On June 23, the fire originated from power distribution control room at basement of the university building.
