Rangpur: Dr Christian Friedrich Samuel Heinemann would be remembered forever for inventing the Homeopathy Treatment System (HTS) and dedicating his whole life to service of humanity, speakers said on Tuesday afternoon.

They were addressing a discussion organised at Rangpur Homeopathic Medical College (RHMC) auditorium marking the 258^th birth anniversary of Dr Heinemann, father of the HTS, with principal of RHMC Prof Dr Syeda Shahana Sultana Mala in the chair.

Teachers of RHMC Dr Ruhul Amin Sarker, Dr Yakub Ali, Dr Badrunnahar Nila, Dr Shafikur Rahman, Dr Shahjamal Mollah, Dr Morsheda Begum, Dr Morsheda Nasrine, Dr Shamsunnahar Begum and Dr Sarifuzzaman Ripan, addressed.

Students of the college Moazzem Hossain, Shyamoli Rani Roy, Asadul Islam Suman, Hafizur Rahman, Feroz Ahmed and Tanzim Hossain, Khademul Morsalin, among others, spoke on the occasion that was attended by all teachers and students of the institution.

Terming Dr Heinemann as one of the greatest scientists in medical sciences, the speakers said HTS is still playing a significant role in ensuring effective medicare services to millions of people, including the low-income group poorer section, without any side effects.

They said thousands of male and female homeopathic physicians have been providing treatments to the poor across the country, both in urban and rural areas assisting the government to take forward its programme of medicare services for all.

A special prayer was offered seeking divine blessings for the eternal peace of the departed soul of Dr Heinemann at the end of the programme.
