Dhaka: With an inflow of $1,282.47 million in last December, the country received $7,396.94 million as remittance from July to December - the first-half of the current 2012-13 (FY13) financial year.
The inflow, which was $1328.64 million higher over the $6068.30 million received in the first six months of the previous 2011-12 (FY12) financial year. Total remittance inflow during FY12 was $12.17 billion.
The strong trend provided more ground for the central bank's hope of attaining a record $14 billion at the end of the current 2012-13 financial year.
Bangladesh Bank (BB) data released Monday showed that the country in December received $180.32 million more remittance from Bangladeshi expatriates than the $1102.15 million in November.
