A teacher of Law and Justice Department of Rajshahi University has been suspended on charge of his involvement in deception.

Action against Dr. Julfikar Ahmed, associate professor of the department, was taken at a syndicate meeting of the university held on Thursday night with Vice Chancellor M Mizan Uddin in the chair.

Dean of commerce faculty Prof Amjad Hossain confirmed this.

He misappropriated Tk several crores from people here and his village home in Satkhira district in the name of a multi-level company.

The RU authorities took the step against him as he was found guilty in an initial investigation.

RU Pro-VC Sarwar Jahan said no RU teacher can carry out business without permission from the authorities. “He deceived people in the name of MLM business. Hence, he has been suspended”.
