Rangpur: The business community leaders at a views-sharing meeting here today committed for ensuring and reasonable prices of the essential commodities during the upcoming holy Ramadan in the district.
Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) arranged the meeting at its Board Room with the business community leaders and traders of all strata of the divisional city.
President of RCCI and noted industrialist Mostafa Sohrab Chowdhury Titu presided over the meeting, participated by leaders of different business organisations of the divisional city and adjoining areas.
Leaders of different business organisations including Rezaul Islam Milan, Alhaj Moyen Uddin, Azizul Islam Mukul, Alhaj Sadek Hossain Munna, Mostafa Kamal, Abdul Mazid Khokan, Akbar Ali, Masudur Rahman and Reaz Shahed Suman, addressed.
Vice-president of RCCI Golam Zakaria Pintu, RCCI Directors Shah Mohammad Selim, Mostafa Ahmed, Manjur Ahmed Azad, Alhaj Emdadul Hossain, Mozammel Hossain Dambel, Fazlul Haque, Rabi Somani and other business community leaders spoke.
The business community leaders expressed their firm commitments for engaging their maximum and sincere efforts in keeping prices of all essentials during the Holy month of Ramadan at reasonable levels.
They also raised some issues seeking assistances from all concerned including the administrations to ensure smooth business of pure foodstuffs without chemicals and colours and stopping sales of rotten and uneatable foods in the markets and footpaths.
The RCCI President urged the businesspersons for conducting their businesses with the normal and lowest profits during the month of Ramadan. He said all necessary steps would be taken with the assistances of all concerned business organizations to keep prices of the essentials stable and tolerable and a Bazaar Monitoring Committee will work towards that directions.
