Dhaka: Wednesday marks the 20th day of Amar Ekushey Grantha Mela 2013. Though 20 days have already passed the publishers are not happy. They are not making good business from book selling. Most of the publishers are saying that this year books are sold less than last year. They said that hartal, Projonmo Chattar movement and bad weather are responsible for that less purchasing of books.
Bangladesh Pustok Prokashoni O Bikroy Shomiti has already has sent a letter to the Director General of Bangla Academy requesting the extension of the book fair for seven days. The owner of Anindo Prokashoni Afzal Hossain said a letter will also be sent to the Director General of Bangla Academy from Bangladesh Gyan and Srijonshil Prokashi with the same demand.
But Director General of Bangla Academy Shamsuzzaman Khan said this is not possible to extend the time-limit of the book fair.
Seventy nine new books have been published on the 19th day of Amar Ekushey Grantha Mela.
