Dhaka: The results of admission tests of session 2012-13 under medical and dental colleges were published Sunday.

Director General of Health Services (DGHS) Khandaker Md Shefayetullah told journalists that they had started sending SMS to successful candidates' cell phones which were collected during the filling of admission forms.

"The results are available at DGHS website (www.dghs.gov.bd) shortly," he added.

The authorities started releasing results of the combined medical and dental admission test of both public and private institutions on Sunday, just two days of the test.

The 100-mark multiple choice questions (MCQ) examination was held on Friday across Bangladesh. Some 58,723 aspirants applied for 8,493 seats in all public and private medical and dental colleges.

According to the DGHS, there are 2,811 seats in the 22 government medical colleges and 4,245 in the 53 private medical colleges.

The nine public dental colleges and the dental units of medical colleges have 567 seats, while 14 private dental institutes have 870 seats.
