Dhaka: The top war crimes suspect and the former Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami, Ghulam Azam, charged with crimes committed against humanity during the Liberation War, on Monday felt sick in the custody of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT).
Lawyers and journalists, who were present in the tribunal rushed in front of the custody, where he was brought in the morning.
Later, he was taken to hospital in stretcher in an unconscious state.
A tribunal official said the former Ameer of Jamaat was taken to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) hospital.
The 90-year-old accused was indicted on May 13, this year, on five charges based on 61 incidents of crimes against humanity like murders in mass scale, tortures, plots against independence and incitement for genocides.
